Port Aransas Development & Code Update: September 2025 Statistics

Michele Lorette November 24, 2025

Part of my job is keeping you informed on the latest trends in Port Aransas real estate and community development. Here’s a look at the City’s September 2025 statistics covering building permits, code enforcement, and short-term rental activity. These numbers give great insight into how our Texas Gulf Coast community continues to grow and evolve.

Port Aransas Building Permits & Development Activity

Residential construction remains active in Port Aransas, though more measured compared to the rapid rebuilding phases of past years.

New Residential Building Permits (Year-to-Date):

2025: 93 issued, with 9 under review or awaiting revision
2024: 97
2023: 156
2022: 271
2021: 179
2020: 98
2019: 138
2018: 96
2017: 90

While slightly behind last year’s pace, steady permit activity shows continued confidence in local development and investment.

Code Enforcement Activity (September 2025)

Code enforcement remained steady through September, focusing on property maintenance and safety.

The City also reports a reduction in brush piles and toters being left out, a positive sign of improved community compliance.
